Korean War

1. After World War II, Japan lost their control of Korea and Korea divided in to 2 parts.
2. U.S. and Soviet Union were the most powerful countres at that time. U.S. was spreading democracy, and Soviet Union was spreading communism. North Korea falls to Communism and South Korea falls to democracy.
3. The DMZ was created which divides Korea into two parts. It is Demilitarized Zone.
4. They are still divided.
5. Some people want to get back together, because then we will have greater power. But some people don't, because they think South will lose many things and very different culture.
6. The war is not really over
7. Both sides had a lot of damage, espacially North Korea.
8. The South didn't have a chance to protect themselves when the North started to attack because they were on vacation after the fall harvest.
9. Many families were separated after the Korean War.
10. Some families fought against each other.
